A date has finally been set for the P Diddy trial: Here’s everything we know so far
P Diddy will finally face trial next year
P Diddy is set to face trial next year, almost eight months after his arrest on the 16th of September this year. His trial is currently planned to take place on the 5th May 2025.
P Diddy has been accused of trafficking and racketeering, but he has denied all of these allegations.
He is currently being held without bail in a New York prison, despite many attempts to be released on bail before his trial. All of his attempts were denied by the case’s previous judge who would not grant the request on the grounds that he was a “danger to the community.” His bail package included a $50 million payout, a GPS tracker, house arrest and the surrender of his entire family’s passports.
The rapper appeared in court on Thursday 10th October with his mother and children by his side, where the date was set. The judge also scheduled another court appearance for December, although lawyers on the case deemed it unnecessary. Currently, he will have to stay in prison until his trial takes place.
On Wednesday, P Diddy’s lawyers filed some court documents which accused the Department of Homeland Security of leaking the 2016 Cassie Ventura video, which they claimed led to “prejudicial pre-trial publicity” that could taint the jurors’ perspective and lead to an unfair trial in his case.
Federal prosecutors responded to these defence claims, stating in a written message to the judge that the government did not have the video in their possession before it was broadcasted on CNN for the first time.

The P Diddy trial is already set to be unlike most regular trials, as Marc Agnifilo, P Diddy’s lawyer, said in a teaser for the new TMZ Diddy documentary: “I don’t know that I could keep him off the stand. I think he’s very eager to tell his story.”
According to the lawyer, P Diddy has “come to terms with the fact that this is where he is for now”, and he’s “focused on his defence”.
