The Birmingham Tab is finally recruiting new writers again, and we want you!

Join us at our open meeting at The Soak on 24th January at 6pm

The Birmingham Tab is looking for more writers to join its wonderful team, and we want you!

We’re looking for university students from across Brum to help break the biggest news and create great content to entertain students across the city.

Whether you have a knack for writing witty features or want to bring attention to a serious issue, we’ve got something for you so come down to The Soak on 24th January at 6pm.

What is The Tab?

The Tab is a national collection of writers across uni cities coming together to expose breaking (and not so breaking) news.

There’s something for everyone, news, features, quizzes and so much more- whether you want to write about the most recent scandal on campus, rank the best places for a uni night out or write about your opinions on what the latest album release says about you – go ahead!

The Birmingham Tab is written by students for students, so anything that matters to you will always be read and shared by others, and there will also be loads of opportunities to create TikTok and Instagram content for students around Brum.

We also have a national site too, which gets nine million readers per month, and if you join us, you may get the chance to write for The Tab HQ!

The Birmingham Tab has an editorial team, made up of five experienced editors, as well as a fully-qualified journalist based at HQ who helps us out and provides support when needed!

Why should you write for The Birmingham Tab?

Some of The Tab writers from across the UK at a HQ social in London!

Writing for The Tab can look brilliant on any CV, with former writers going on to work for the BBC, The Times, Sky, Vogue and JOE. Some of our writers even go onto work for HQ too!

It’s also a great way to meet like-minded people as we hold meetings, and there are often events in London at The Tab’s HQ, such as curries and even karaoke!

No writing experience is needed to join, we’re looking for students who are enthusiastic and interested in writing and covering news which can range from protests to rugby socials gone wrong. If you’re interested in a topic, let us know too as we’d love to cover it!

How can you join The Birmingham Tab?

Come to our open meeting at The Soak on 24th January at 6pm where you can chat with our current team, share ideas and get a little insight into writing for The Birmingham Tab.

If you have any questions or can’t make the meeting, our DMs are always open on Instagram, so don’t hesitate to send us a message.
