People are sharing the best The Vivienne moments that prove they were a British drag legend
James Lee Williams, aka The Vivienne, passed away this weekend aged 32
The Vivienne, the first ever winner of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK, died this weekend aged 32 – and the loss has been immeasurable. James Lee Williams, in or out of drag as The Vivienne, was one of the funniest and most beloved drag icons in the UK, who since taking the first ever crown on Drag Race UK went on to smash it on an all winners season of Drag Race All Stars, came third on Dancing on Ice and became a regular on the British TV circuit. The Vivienne was not just an immaculate queen, she was hilarious, wise and witty – and many drag queens looked up to her as a mentor. In the wake of the horrible news that The Vivienne passed away this weekend, people are sharing the best and funniest moments that prove they were a legend at what they did.
‘I always come back to this when I need a laugh’

Not just incredible on the show, so many The Vivienne moments have gone viral from what they did off the show. One of the most beloved is this moment that truly proves how great The Viv was at improv. “If we’d gone halves on the bag, we’d go together wouldn’t we?” is classic Viv.
‘My name’s Boo’

Whenever The Vivienne linked up with Monet X Change, you knew you were in for a laugh. In this classic bit, a girl tells the paid her name is ‘Boo’, to which the quick witted drag legend does their hilarious reaction.

The Vivienne held her own on a stacked all winners All Stars season, and nothing showcased how great they were at thinking on their feet even when doing a number than when they quickly grabbed Jaida Essence Hall’s xylophone for this magic moment.
‘Noelle, please!’
This doesn’t feel real. RIP The Vivienne.

Of all the best moments of The Vivienne, and there are many, I think this is my personal favourite. In the acting challenge from All Stars 7, The Vivienne did the now iconic “Noelle please, please Noelle … LISTEN Noelle” that had RuPaul in stitches. Making Ru laugh like that is a testament to Viv’s charisma and warmth, just so naturally hilarious.
Insanely great celebrity impersonations

The Vivienne was a powerhouse of celebrity impersonation – and never was this better showcased than their Snatch Game winning performance as Donald Trump which was honestly just scarily good.
The first ever runway nose moment
one of my favorite moments from the vivienne, her legacy will live forever 💔👑 pic.twitter.com/HzJcVfiBMb

The Vivienne truly transformed when they were in drag, and on the first ever runway for Drag Race UK they walked as the queen and Michelle thought the nose was a prosthetic. Hilarious.
Her impromptu Cilla Black
one of my favourite drag race moments ever, rest in peace The Vivienne pic.twitter.com/0PYQHMLOPK

Imagine being this good just messing around in the Werk Room? A legend.
A formidable comedy roast
The Vivienne was one of the few queens who could keep pace with Jinkx in a roast pic.twitter.com/IQ0ZUtng5J

As the tweet says, “The Vivienne was one of the few queens who could keep pace with Jinkx” – a truly great improv comic who proved in the roast how funny and confident they were.
