Strictly Come Dancing 2024 winner Chris Mccausland to perform at University of Warwick
It’s a jam packed schedule in the Arts centre
It’s good news for Strictly fans, as Chris Mccausland, comedian and actor and recent winner of the 2024 series of Strictly Come Dancing, is coming to the University of Warwick.
After bagging first place with his partner, Diane Buswell, Chris is returning to his day job of standup, Leamington Observer reports.
But luckily for students, Chris will be also be appearing at the Warwick Arts Centre this spring to perform his show Yonks.
After putting in a show stopping performance on the dancing show, Chris, who lost his sight completely by the age of 22 due to retinitis pigmentosa, took home the trophy with his partner Diane.
In a relationship with YouTuber Joe Sugg, Diane won Strictly for the first time with Chris, having joined as a professional dancer back in 2017.
But now, Chris is ditching the dancing shoes and going back to his bread and butter, looking to raise a laugh at his next gig at the centre from Friday 23rd May to Friday 7th November in Butterworth Hall. Tickets will range from around £27 to £33.
There will also be a number of other performances taking place in the venue, including gigs from Leamington-based dance company Motionhouse, who present the first ever performance of their new production, Hidden.
What’s more, Carrying on the Strictly theme are Strictly professionals Karen Hauer and Gorka Marquez who will appear, performing Speakeasy, and Earnest, as seen at Edinburgh Fringe. Alongside Chris, lots of comedy is coming to the Arts Centre, with the likes of Katherine Ryan and Mo Gilligan .
