Squid Game 2 was forced to change a huge part of the show after error in season one

Squid Game 2 was forced to make a big change in new episodes, following a huge error in season one. There was a blunder on the show when it first came out, which was said to have “ruined the life” of one woman.

A massive part of the show is the recruiting of players for the deadly games. To do so, the recruiter hands out cards with a number on them. However, Netflix made a huge error with the cards in season one of Squid Game. The number was real!

At first it was reported to have belonged to a man, but it’s since been reported it belonged to a woman. Throughout the first episode of Squid Game season one, the number on the cards was shown on screen multiple times. Netflix then had to edit scenes from season one.

Speaking to Money Today, the woman said she at first didn’t understand why she was being contacted so much. Then, a friend pointed out it was because her number was featured on the show. She received “endless” calls and text messages, making it “difficult to live daily life”.

She added she couldn’t simply change her number, as it had been her business number for over 10 years. “There are more than 4,000 numbers that I’ve had to delete from my phone,” the woman explained. “I get calls out of curiosity day and night without any sense of time, to the point where my phone battery would run out in half a day.”

Netflix has since edited out her phone number, and replaced it with the unusable set of digits: 001-034. This is the number seen on the cards in Squid Game 2.

In a statement at the time, Netflix said: “Together with the production company, we are working to resolve this matter, including editing scenes with phone numbers where necessary.”
