Brittany’s ex claims they rekindled just before Love Is Blind, and he drove her to filming

Love Is Blind is the drama-filled gift which keeps on giving. Season seven’s Brittany and Leo unfortunately didn’t make it to Mexico, however, what happened in Miami and the following events may have been more chaotic than any of us initially realised. In an exclusive interview, Brittany’s ex-boyfriend Rocky Hawkins told his side of the story which began before Love Is Blind even began filming. Speaking to The Tab, Rocky told his story of how he and Brittany had been romantically involved for four years, how he drove her to the Love Is Blind set, and even how he was there in Miami on her and Leo’s trip! Hold on, because it’s all about to come out…

‘I was in love with this girl for four years’

To begin, Rocky explained that he and Brittany had “been in each other’s lives” for four years before the show but took a six-month break which began in the spring of 2023, which was before Brittany had applied to Love Is Blind. During this six-month break, she was offered a place on the show and according to Rocky had “no contact” with him.

A week before she was due to leave for Love Is Blind, Rocky said he reached out to her saying he missed her. According to him, the two chatted and then she asked him for lunch where she told him that she was going on the show.

Although the two were not dating when she went on Love Is Blind, Brittany’s ex believed as they had “so much history” they would “reconnect” after the show – which they did. He had so much faith in their relationship that he even drove her to the airport to go to D.C. and film the show. Absolutely wild.

The Miami trip love triangle

Rocky claimed Brittany called him when she arrived in Miami a few weeks after finishing Love Is Blind. However, she apparently left out a few key details, including who she was there with. Rocky said she told him she was “in Miami with my best friend.” When he got there, she was with one of her friends from home. What he never knew was that she had arrived in Miami with Leo, who had since left. Brittany was apparently still “chatting on the phone” with Leo after he left Miami.

According to Brittany’s ex, when the Love Is Blind filming was over and done with, they “picked up right where the relationship left off,” as he believed it would before.

Did Brittany’s ex ever watch Love Is Blind?

The short answer is no, Brittany’s ex did not watch Love Is Blind – he was going to “wait a while to watch it” originally. Rocky claimed all of his and Brittany’s friends advised him not to, and it didn’t take much for him not to want to. However, despite the “obvious reasons” stopping him from watching the series, he actually did watch a bit of the reunion. He was happy to fast forward to her part and hear her say that she was seeing someone.

After the show, Rocky said Brittany warned him she was going to be “really busy for quite some time.” However, that didn’t bother him: “I’ve been supportive towards Brittany no matter what was going on.”

The two seemed to be happily together after the chaos of Love Is Blind was over, but all was not meant to last. Rocky explained that they’d been “together” ever since she returned, going on trips together and meeting each others’ families. Then, he took her to the airport to go to L.A. where she was going to a Mod Sun concert with a couple of the Love Is Blind girlies (who now follow him btw) – Marissa, Monica, Alex and Katie. Rocky said they had both said “I love you” before she got on the plane.

Mod Sun, who is also Avril Lavigne’s ex, posted a video on TikTok of him meeting the Love Is Blind girls at the concert. Next thing Rocky knew, he was getting sent paparazzi photos of Brittany and Mod Sun dancing together and kissing at an after-party.

Rocky was ‘disgusted’ and ignored Brittany’s calls

After seeing the photos, Rocky had a “hard time processing.”

“It still doesn’t feel real to me. I don’t know how anyone could do anything like this to someone who has been nothing but great to you,” he said.

According to Rocky, she called him a couple of times, but he didn’t answer because he was so “disgusted” about everything. When he finally picked up, she did apologise but there wasn’t much left to say after what she had done.

Where do Brittany and Rocky stand now?

Speaking to The Tab, Rocky said that he wishes “nothing but the best” for Brittany and “doesn’t hold any hatred towards her.”

“It’s all so obvious now that she was probably checking out of the relationship,” Rocky explained. “I was just bitter, but she never said anything to me and not only did she break my heart, but she did it on a level that I never could have imagined. I will probably always be in shock. She was someone I was just great to and fully opened up my heart to. Everyone in Maryland knows I would have done anything for that girl.”
