Taylor Swift just dropped more versions of TTPD and people think it’s to block Chappell Roan

She has now released nearly 40 variants of the same album

| UPDATED

Taylor Swift has once again released some limited time variants of her album The Tortured Poets Department – just in time for her chart battle with Chappell Roan, who is contending to score her first number one album. The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess has gained increased traction over the last few weeks, with it hitting number one on the UK album chart last week – whereas Taylor Swift has been criticised for increasingly releasing new limited edition versions of her album to maintain the top spot. Now, people think the two latest versions of The Tortured Poets Department Taylor Swift has released are to beat Chappell Roan to dethroning her.

People do also think Taylor Swift is doing this to beat long time rival Kanye West to the top spot – after he released more versions of Vultures 2. She also changed the wording of her song Thank You Aimee – previosuly stylised as thanK you aIMee – which was taken to be a dig at Kim Kardashian. It now reads on the new digital download as thank You aimEe.

These moves Taylor Swift has been making have been widely criticised on Twitter.

One fuming Chappell Roan fan said “thanks to taylor swift dropping more versions of “the tortureD poEtS dePartment”, chappEll Roan will most likely not go #1 in the united stATEs this week” – using the capital letters to brutally brand Taylor Swift as “desperate”.

Another fumed “Taylor Swift dropping her 148th variant of an album no one knows any songs off to block Chappell Roan KNOWING that this is Chappell’s only week to go number one because Post Malone just released is just anti feminist loser behaviour. I’m sorry, she’s lost a fan in me.”
