Ranked: All the age gaps between the couples on Love Island 2024

The all-consuming reality show, Love Island, will soon complete its 2024 run filled with drama, arguments and a million recouplings I already forgot about. With contestants joining the show as young as 18, there have definitely been some questionable age gaps on the show this year. The girls on the show ranged from 24 to 29 whereas the youngest male Islander was 21. Usually the couples have pretty normal age gaps, but with a 33 year-old Joey Essex on the show, things are a little different this year. Here’s a list of the age gaps between the couples on Love Island 2024:

Matilda and Sean – same age

Both Matilda and Sean are 24 years old. The pair officially coupled up around three weeks into the show, and have been together since despite a few arguments. Sean is no stranger to getting into beef with other Islanders, and it’s already affected his sweet business on the outside of the villa.

Ayo and Jess – same age

Ayo and Jess are both 25, although Ayo is one month older than Jess. Don’t forget to wish him a happy birthday on the 6th of August!

Grace and Reuben – two years

Grace is two years older than Reuben at 25, which we don’t see much on the show. Reuben is 23, making their age gap barely noticeable. Despite the pair being voted off the show as the couple who would be least likely to make it work outside of the villa.

Nicole and Ciaran – three years

Finally, a couple I have actual hope will last outside the villa. I was surprised to learn that Ciaran is just 21, making Nicole three years older than him. Still, their age gap hasn’t had an impact on their love for each other! This is definitely a couple we’ll see lasting long past the show.

Harriett and Ronnie – four years

Despite leaving the villa, Harriett and Ronnie are still together and even spent Ronnie’s 28th birthday celebrations together along with fellow dumped couple Uma and Will. Harriett is 24 years old, giving the couple a four year age difference. I’m kind of obsessed with them despite being evicted from the show: Maybe the goal of Love Island is actually to find love after all.

Mimii and Josh – five years

One of the larger age gaps on the show, Mimii is 24 and Josh is 29, putting a five year difference between the couple. We’ve definitely seen worse age differences, especially in couples with less chemistry than these two (cough cough Love Island 2024 cast).

Joey and Jessy – eight years

Unlike the other couples in the villa, Joey and Jessy have a whopping eight years between them, and it’s soon to be nine when Joey turns 34 next week. Joey seems to be serious about Jessy, but who knows how long this will last. We’ll check back in three months.
