Bristol University jumps six places in one of the best global league tables
Bristol University goes global as they soar up the international league tables
Bristol University has climbed the league tables to make it the 55th-best university in the world, according to QS World University Rankings.
This is the second year running that Bristol has moved up in QS’ highly regarded rankings and maintained its position as the 9th best university in the UK. These results come in just weeks after the Complete University Guide 2024 placed 30 of Bristol’s subjects in the top ten of UK universities.
Professor Evelyn Welch, the University’s Vice-Chancellor and President, responded to these results by acknowledging that: “Moving up in QS’ global rankings is no small achievement given an expanding field of impressive and ambitious higher education insititutions around the world.”
She added, “I would like to thank our amazing staff and students who have made this possible”.
QS judge the universities based on ten metrics, including three new ones: Sustainability, Employment Outcomes and International Research Network. They also gather data from 144,000 academics and 98,000 employers from around the world.
Other metrics include Academic Reputation, Citations per Faculty (in academic papers), Employer Reputation, Faculty to Student Ratio, International Faculty (the number of international staff) and International Students.
Bristol succeeded in the Academic Reputation category and the Employer Reputation category. This was based on global employers’ opinions surrounding which universities are providing “job-ready graduates”.
To add to Bristol’s triumphs, in late 2022 the university also rose 16 places in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2023.
All this success is the uni basically telling you to have at least two post-seminar pints and giving you a free pass to miss a few more 9 A Ms than you did last year. Things matter less when you’ve gone global babes.
