JD Wetherspoon’s have closed The Jug & Jester
The Wetherspoon pub was a favourite among students living in Leamington Spa
The Jug & Jester, a JD Wetherspoon’s pub popular with Warwick students has closed with no prior formal announcement.
Last September, the company announced that it would be putting the Jug & Jester on the market alongside four other pubs. The property was acquired in February this year by Stonegate who own pub chains such as Yates and the Slug & Lettuce.
Leamington’s other JD Wetherspoon pub, The Benjamin Satchwell, remains open further up the parade.
Senia Williams, a first-year International Management student, said: “It’s annoying that the Jug & Jester has closed. It was the perfect pre-drink spot before Neon.”
JD Wetherspoon’s have not yet released an official statement.
