The University of York has ranked 20th in the UK in Times World University Rankings

It also ranks 139th in the world


The University of York has been ranked the 20th best university in the UK in the Times World University Rankings 2023.

It is also ranked 139th in the world, rising up from 169th last year.

The Times World University Rankings 2023, which was released on the 12th October, ranks 1,799 universities from 104 countries on factors such as teaching and research quality, staff-to-student ratio, and international outlook.

 

 

The University of York has maintained its position in the top 200 since 2011, having ranked 169th in 2022. In the UK rankings, York is also ranked 19th for teaching and 18th for research as well as 57th in the world for Arts and Humanities subjects.

York scored 88.7 per cent for international outlook, 85.9 per cent for citation, 44 per cent for research, 39.3 per cent for teaching, and 38.4 per cent for industry income, gaining an overall score of 58.4 per cent.

The report also noted a 56:44 student ratio of females to males, 28 per cent of international students, and 14.3 students per staff.
