Man charged with murder after Fulford Arms assault

The pub is popular for students who live in the Fulford area

Benjamin James Traherne from York, was assaulted in the alleyway beside the Fulford Arms pub on February 19th and later died in York Hospital on March 7th.

His attacker, Keith Dunnington, also from York, was charged on March 3rd with the wounding of Mr Traherne, at York Magistrates’ Court following the assault. The charge has since been upgraded to murder following the victim’s death on Monday March 7th.

Third year History of Art student, and Fulford resident, Fred Millar told The Tab:

“I don’t really go to the Fulford Arms much but I might think differently about using Walmgate Stray at certain times in the evenings.”

Mr Dunnington is due to appear in Court today, after yesterday being charged with murder.
