UPDATE: Two people have been charged with attempted murder after stabbings in Sheffield

They will appear in court today


Two people have been charged with attempted murder following on from four stabbings in Sheffield over the weekend.

The two attacks, one which happened in the city centre at 4am, in which an Asian man was attacked, and another on Carver street at 5.53 am in which three Polish men were stabbed, left five people injured in total, one of which was left in a critical condition in hospital.

The two men are to appear at Sheffield Magistrates' Court today.

Meanwhile, Area nightclub in the city centre remains shut today after two further unrelated stabbings in the early hours of Sunday morning. Police are seeking to permanently close the nightclub after one man was stabbed in the back of his head and another suffered a puncture wound to his lung during incidents inside the club at 2.20am.
