For Your Pleasure: Oxford’s Girls

The Tab scoured the cobbled streets below the dreamy spires in search of Oxford’s female fashionistas.

Girls Fashion oxford Street-Style

Like a guest who’s outstayed their welcome, The Tab loitered outside of Topshop, sidled up and down Broad Street and schmoozed around the Covered Market to show you what our ladies have been sporting this week…

 Faux-Fur Fashionista

This dashing blonde Charlotte Kirk, a second year chemist, was on her way to the KA when The Tab caught up with her.

She layers velvet and faux-fur creating a dramatic and eye-catching look, with her Modalu leather handbag adding further texture to her outfit. Her white ankle socks give a school-girl feel to the ensemble and are an unusual twist on an otherwise classic look.

She informs me her fabulous faux-fur coat is from ‘Unicorn’ and dates from the 1950s – we wondered what that musty smell was….

Handbag expertly placed on her arm, oozing poise and class, this girl means business.

Blackwells’ Belle

Found amongst the bookshelves of Blackwells, and in her grandma’s cardigan no less, this Waddamite Rebecca Holdsworth looks very at home.  The baggy cardi is complemented by a pair of plain black figure-hugging leggings, whilst her thick soled boots add a military quality to the outfit, (very Autumn/Winter 12/13).

She informs The Tab that her favourite item is a green Austrian cape – Hansel and Gretel springs to mind – and she normally takes around 15 minutes to get ready in the morning.

And just look at those headphones – Rebecca’s “cool” and “edgy” vibe shows that the Oxford sorting hat clearly knew his stuff.

The Girl Next Door

Meet Cora Harrison, a Magdelen girl The Tab spotted outside of Topshop. Her coat risks looking like something from ‘Frozen Planet’, but Cora avoids this pitfall by adding a warm crimson scarf from Gloucester Green weekly market. Some patterned leggings from Urban Outfitters add colour and texture variation.

These Topshop market boots are this seasons must have and add some continuity of colour alongside her square pouch shoulder bag. Epitomising effortless style Cora is the ideal date for any get-up-and-go kind of guys.

Last week we saw how the boys of Oxford fared under the scrutiny of The Tab, this week its down to the girls. Who wins? You decide.
