Crisis cancels club night after deaths of two ‘much loved’ University of Nottingham students

‘Yesterday, we lost two of our own’

Crisis has cancelled its event tonight after yesterday’s “major incident” in Nottingham left three people dead, two of which were students at University of Nottingham.

Barnaby Webber and Grace Kumar who were “talented and much loved” students within the Nottingham student community, died after an attack on Ilkeston Road.

University of Nottingham’s Students’ Union also took the decision to cancel the Graduation Ball that was due to be held yesterday evening and refund ticket holders due to the events that took place within the city.

In a statement, Crisis said: “Yesterday, we lost two of our own.

“As an Official University of Nottingham club night and out of respect for the victims, we’ve made the decision to cancel tonight’s event as we stand with the whole of Nottingham in mourning this tragic loss.

“Ticket holders will be refunded.”
