Man arrested by police following two sexual assaults in Lenton

The arrest was made following a public appeal by the police

Nottinghamshire Police has arrested a suspect after investigating two reports of sexual assaults by a man on a bike.

A 25-year-old man was arrested last week on suspicion of two counts of sexual assault and remains in police custody.

A public appeal was released after two women reported assaults in Lenton, reports West Bridgford Wire.

The first incident occurred in Church Street on Sunday 28th May at around 10:30pm.

The second occurred near the underpass at Sherwin Road, at around 11pm the following day.

Detective Inspector Dan Holloway of Nottinghamshire Police said: “These were upsetting incidents for the women involved and unsurprisingly caused significant concern in the local community.

“We have been working hard over the last week or so to investigate these incidents and I am pleased we have now identified a suspect.”
