Rhiannon ComptonThe Met Office has issued a warning for extensive ice across Nottingham this weekend.
Temperatures are expected to drop to minus four degrees tonight, ensuring ice and frost tomorrow morning.
Snow is then expected to fall on Friday as maximum temperatures is estimated at three degrees.
Nottingham residents have been warned to be cautious on the roads as conditions could get dangerous. The cold spell is expected to continue well into next week.
Students at Nottingham avoided the worst of the snow last year as it fell just after New Year.
The University will most likely grit all roads and paths on the main campuses to ensure there are minimal disturbances as the second week of exams continues.
