Bar Quattro to close down this weekend after being ‘severely’ impacted by rising costs
The beloved Jesmond bar will be permanently closing its doors on Sunday 25th February
Quattro will be closing its doors for good on Sunday 25th February after being severely impacted by rising costs.
The bar, which is situated along Osborne Road in Jesmond, was best known for its great student deals and for being the only venue on that road open until 12am on a Friday and Saturday.
The news comes after the beloved Jesmond bar shared a statement to their Instagram page on Monday evening addressing plans to permanently close. Until then, the bar will be offering a range of deals throughout the week.
A spokesperson for the bar said: “But the reality is that we are a very small independent business and the current economic state combined with a massive increase in utilities, rent, constant rise in the cost of products and services and the cost of living crisis has impacted us severely”.
As for the future of Quattro? The business said: “There are no current plans to relocate Quattro sadly. The premises are being returned to our landlord so we don’t know what is to come next at this venue”.
“The Quattro team is grateful to all our customers we’ve had throughout the years, who kept us going through the hard times ever since we opened five years ago. The unbelievable amount of support and well wishes that we have been receiving recently in regards to the closure has made us realise how many people actually love this place and it’s very much appreciated”.
Quattro will be open as usual all week, with a final goodbye taking place on Sunday until 11pm. Make sure to pop down before then for a farewell pint and a night of nostalgia.
