Women’s Hockey grudge match between UCLU and King’s will open 2014 London Varsity Series

The Women’s Hockey Varsity this Friday 7th of March will be the first fixture of the eagerly anticipated 2014 London Varsity Series, promising to be a neck-to-neck showdown between UCLU and KCLSU.

This Friday, the UCLU Women’s Hockey Varsity squad will be taking on King’s College in the first ever London Hockey Varsity. It will be the first fixture of the evening, followed by the men’s match, and will kickstart the 2014 London Varsity series.

In a LUSL Premiership fixture earlier this team, our UC girls beat Strand Poly 2-1. UCLU 1st team are storming through the season and have secured their position at the top of the league.

In BUCS, UCLU Women’s Hockey 1s compete in BUCS South Eastern 1A, a league higher than King’s 1st team. The UC girls even made it all the way to the BUCS Quarter Finals last week after beating Canterbury CCU 1st team 10-0.

As with the UC Hockey men, our players in purple are looking much better than King’s so far in the season, and are favourites to claim victory.

Our UC ladies will be fighting for the Hockey Varsity title against Strand Poly before the men’s fixture. Get your tickets now before it’s too late, and hold on to this who’s-who guide to cheer on your hockey heroes.
