With the end of the season getting closer and closer, it is more important than ever to collect maximum points, not least for this UCL Mixed 2nds squad, who faced an in form Imperial Medics. With a 17-15 victory for the UCL side in the same fixture earlier this year, the squad went into this match with an air of confidence about them.

The UCL Mixed 2nds started strongly, storming into a 3-1 lead inside the first quarter, with a couple of fantastic goals from Attila Bogsch. And with Imperial pegging back just one goal in the next quarter, UCL took a promising 3-2 lead going into the second half.

As Captain Josh Chew fought to drive the team on, there was little the squad could do as prolific Imperial hit-man Nick von Guionneau completed the comeback to make it 4-4 in the final minute of the 3rd quarter.

But successive victories over the Imperial Medics weren’t to be as a dramatic finale saw Imperial run out 7-6 winners.

In spite of the loss, the team can take many positives from this fiercely fought match. As well as a sterling man of the match performance from Bogsch, they showed great heart and came extremely close to taking the game after a superb first period.
