We’re the unhappiest uni in Scotland, says new rankings

Dour bastards

As if we didn’t have enough to feel glum about today, Edinburgh has been ranked the unhappiest uni in Scotland.

New league tables claim we have the lowest student satisfaction in the country, according to the Complete Uni Guide.

Tragically, Heriot-Watt, Queen Margaret and even Napier all beat us when it came to overall satisfaction.

Only three universities in the UK have lower satisfaction than us: Royal Agricultural, the University of Arts London and the infamous London Met.

St Andrews takes the prize as the happiest uni in Scotland, followed by Heriot-Watt and Dundee.

Heriot-Watt is the happiest in Edinburgh, leaving us crying in a corner at last place, complaining to a course organiser, or daddy.

Fresher biological scientist Emily, 19, is at Heriot Watt and explained why student satisfaction there may be higher than ours.

She said: “Because no standards have been set we have to set our own.

“Whereas with Edinburgh there’s a certain calibre that needs to be reached – a certain amount of tweed needs to be owned.

“We just accept everyone with open arms. It’s pretty carefree really, so it contributes to a happy environment.”

At least we have the highest average starting salary and the best job prospects in Edinburgh.
