Just a matter of weeks after performing at Fitz Ball, a YouTube cover by 3rd year Land Ec Chris Wilson has been seen by thousands of people all over the world.

On the 22nd of December, Wilson uploaded an acoustic cover of Avicii and Nicky Romero’s new track I Could Be The One to YouTube. The next day he awoke to find a view count in excess of 20,000 and a top comment that read ‘Nicky Romero sent me here.’

Wilson told The Tab: “I almost couldn’t believe it, and immediately went to check his Twitter and Facebook profiles, feeling strangely nervous”. Wilson was then amazed to find that Romero had posted his cover to hundreds of thousands of fans on Facebook and Twitter.

The superstar DJ then asked the Fitz student to produce a full version of the cover so he could give it away to his fans on Facebook as a Christmas present.

“I ended up having to pull an all-nighter on Christmas Eve to get it done, and finally sent it off to him around 11am on Christmas morning. Luckily I’m a Land Ec so I’m used to working very hard.”

The hard work paid off when thousands of fans proceeded to download his cover from Nicky Romero’s Facebook page.

“Those few days were crazy, and I couldn’t believe that one of my favourite musicians had gone so far out of his way to contact me, promote my video and help me out.”

The Tab doubts whether many other students will ever have had a Christmas present quite like this!
