UoB has fallen six places since the 2021 rankings, where it was ranked 13th out of 130 universities. The score is based on a range of factors including research quality, graduate prospects and student satisfaction.

18 subjects were ranked in the top ten nationally: American Studies, Anthropology, Archaeology, Chemical Engineering, Creative Writing, Dentistry, Drama, Geology, Heritage Studies, History of Art, Materials Technology, Music, Physiotherapy, Russian, Social Policy, Social Work, Sports Science and Theology and Religious Studies.

UoB also finishes in the top 20 for Degree completion, Academic services spend and Graduate prospects.

The good news ends here, as Birmingham has dropped 24 places to 116th for student satisfaction. It scored 3.92 out of a possible 5, finishing at the latter end of the 128 universities surveyed.
