UoB is ranked the top UK university for American and Canadian studies in the 2021 Complete University Guide
Overall nationally UoB is 13th
The University of Birmingham received the top ranking for American and Canadian Studies in this year’s Complete University Guide ranking. UoB was also placed 13th nationally in this year’s Complete University Guide League Table who released their university league tables and rankings for 2021 on Tuesday. This is higher than UoB’s ranking of 18th in 2016.
The 2021 national ranking puts UoB in a higher position overall than its rivals Bristol, Edinburgh and Southampton.
Among the big climbers in this year’s rankings were York which jumped eight places and King’s College London which rose five places to enter the Top 20.
Each year, The Complete University Guide publishes a national Main League Table of universities, ranking UK universities based on ten requirements including: Entry Standards, Student Satisfaction, Research Quality, Research Intensity, Graduate Prospects, Student-Staff Ratio, Spending on Academic Services, Spending on Student Facilities, Good Honours Degrees, and Completion.
The Complete University Guide also published 70 Subject League Tables. UoB received some high rankings for its 264 undergraduate courses. These included Social Policy (3rd), Chemical Engineering (6th), Philosophy (9th), English (10th), Geography (10th) and Education (10th).
It was revealed that Cambridge topped the Complete University Guide Main League Table for the 10th year running.
However, UoB’s rivals Leeds and Manchester both dropped two places in this year’s official ranking.
