Firefighters called to Baker Street over blaze at Albert House

SPAR shop was evacuated


A house on Baker street Caught fire on Thursday evening. While no detailed information has been confirmed, speculations see a chip pan fire as the cause.

Firefighters and emergency services were on scene when Albert House started burning. The local SPAR shop is connected to the house, and customers had to be evacuated.

The firefighters are still on scene trying to determine what caused the house to start burning. Ryan Morgan, in charge of Spar on Thursday evening told The Tab:  “I noticed a stench of smoke which smelt almost like plastic so I asked a member of staff for his opinion, called the fire department and the rest is history.”

Further information on cause and damage has yet to be released by local emergency services.
