Bartender of the week: Felix from The Libertine

Felix is in his final year studying International Politics, as well as working on the weekends at the Libertine. And for the upcoming seven days, he is your Bartender of the week.

The Libertine can be considered the only place in town where you can decide between an amazing cup of tea or a sophisticated cocktail. They don’t do basic in this place, and Felix knows why.

Felix receives every customer with a big smile on his face. The third-year enjoys working at the Libertine and told us: “I love this place. There is a great atmosphere, you get to know great people and have fun. I got to learn many wonderful skills and knowledge about alcohol and cocktails.

“I would say that The Libertine is the best bar in Aber because it is unique. We have a wonderful range of cocktails and alcohol. We deliver a great and friendly service. And the best part is that there is something for every taste.”

An explosion or just a simple cocktail?

Felix particularly enjoys the special type of customer and cocktails that one can find at The Libertine. He said: “Our costumers vary, but we definitely have more locals than students. Because of that no many crazy things happen here. Although, we once set the bar on fire by accident. We were trying to breathe fire for one of our special cocktails.

“One of the worst things that a costumer can do is order the same drink a lot of times. One after another one. I could just make a lot of the same drink, enough for several serves!”

Everyone who has ever been to The Libertine knows of the exotic types of drinks you can buy there. That means every bartender has to learn a special set of skills. Simply pouring a lager doesn’t quite do it in this case. Felix told us that he just learnt how to breathe fire. Whilst it might not be 100% safe, it is totally awesome.

Felix said: “I feel really proud of myself, not just about my new breathing fire skill, but also about my good skills as a bartender. I can impress everybody at a party”.
