Caffè Nero to open a store in Aber

Because we don’t have enough coffee shops already

The coffee shop chain Caffè Nero is looking to open up a store in our seaside town.

The European coffee house brand is interested in seeling its “Premium Italian Coffee” on Aberystwyth’s highstreets soon, according to the Cambrian News.

So far, no agreements have been reached yet, but Caffè Nero spokespeople communicated that they are interested in potential properties in Aber.

Your coffee will soon be served by yet another chain company

An agreement between the company and the landlords is meant to be struck soon.

The first results are expected to be published within the next fortnight.

The spokesperson said: “At this point in time, we are still in detailed discussions with the landlord, but hoping that final agreements will be in place within the next couple of weeks.”

So far, most coffees have been consumed in local coffee shops

Whilst Aber is commonly known and popular for its lovely little independent cafés, Caffè Nero is only one coffee chain that is to open a shop next to the railway station in Aber.

About one year ago, Starbucks opened a shop next to Why Not Bar, and sparked general outrage with the public and student body, who are worried that Costa Coffee, Starbucks and Co. could ruin local businesses.

Arts student Rosie is one of those opposing the opening of yet another coffee shop chain in Aber, saying: “It’s just another wasted space, we don’t need more places to go for coffee. And we certainly dont need anymore chains, there’s going to be no local spots left.”
