Back on track: Trains will now be running to and from Aber

You can still escape the bubble

Arriva Trains have called off planned strikes set to cancel all train services today and tomorrow.

Over 1,000 rail workers for Arriva Trains Wales were due to strike for 48 hours starting at midnight last night but have since reversed their decision after last minute talks.

The reasons behind the U-turn remain unclear, but students and staff will be rejoicing as the planned strike was predicted to have affected up to 60,000 people.

The RMT spokesman said their may be “some minor service recovery issues” due to the last-minute turn around.

The train unions said they will continue to fight for better working practises for their drivers who are amongst the lowest paid in the country.

But for now the lines are back open and chaos averted.
