Hundreds left in the dark after two and a half hour power cut
Even Borth was affected
Hundreds were left in the dark last night following a power cut which left some without light or electricity for over two hours.
Scottish Power Energy Networks apologised for any inconvenience and sent out engineers to fix the problem as soon as possible.
The majority of Aberystwyth was cut off and the blackout even affected Borth.
Andy, a confused third year, told The Tab: “The power just stopped. At first we thought it was just us as we’ve had problems before, but when we went outside the whole stretch of road into town was dark.
“There were quite a few police in town as large numbers of people took to the streets, and stores weren’t able to shut down properly.”
Interpol student Chris added: “I’m tempted to start a fire in our driveway. It’s actually turned into a nice night, we’ve ended up playing cards with our neighbours.
“But yeah, I really could do with a coffee and we have marshmallows as well.”
Third year Helen was thankful for the power cut. She said: “I was glad this happened. The powercut gave me a break from the work that I wasn’t doing anyway.”
