A senior lecturer has slammed the University after admitting staff morale is very low.

The lecturer, who has worked here for more than 20 years, said managers are not currently acknowledging the major problems afflicting the University.

Following the rise in university fees in 2012, applications to the uni fell by a third from 12,475 in 2011, to 8,425 last year.

Another grey day for Aber

In an interview on BBC Radio Cymru, the lecturer, who wished to remain anonymous, said the crux of the issue was due to the university’s location and rising fees.

They did also said the management methods adopted have led to low levels of morale among staff, and understandably this has had a knock on effect to student satisfaction.

While some may look to April McMahon’s questionable investments, Pro-Vice Chancellor Dr Rhodri Llwyd Morgan said there was no issue with internal morale, and £100m investment was coming into fruition to improve student satisfaction.

He said: “We’re very confident when we look to the future. We can see the investment is starting to pay off.”
