A man was rushed to hospital after collapsing in Pier last week.

The unidentified clubber is believed to have complained about chest pains when he was there on a night out last Tuesday.

An ambulance arrived on the scene just before 2am.

A Welsh Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at approximately 1.40am on Wednesday 11 March to a medical emergency outside Pier Pressure nightclub on Marine Terrace in Aberystwyth.

“We sent an emergency ambulance to the scene, and a man was taken to Bronglais General Hospital.”

Lee Price, the General Manager of the Royal Pier said he was “delighted to hear the standard of care was deemed satisfactory”.

The Pier manager was “genuinely proud of my colleagues’ competent reaction”.

Anya Davoren, a Theatre Studies student, was there when it happened.

She said: “A guy just full on collapsed, and I thought he was just drunk.

“Then his friends were all in a fluster and trying to get him down the stairs, then security came followed by an ambulance.”

It has not been revealed who the man is, but we hope he is making a full recovery.
