All of Love Island’s cheeky Essex geezers ranked, from completely insufferable to reem

Love Island is back and brewing up some real hot drama this summer. The cast is not disappointing and is truly entertaining each and every one of us when we tune in at 9pm. What makes Love Island so iconic as a reality show is it truly is a reflection of different corners of the UK and enforces (some) stereotypes of what people from those areas are like. I’m thinking the cheeky Essex geezer, their presence in Love Island is just unmatched and therefore need a ranking.

From season one all the way through to the current season 11 here’s a count down of the top Love Island Essex geezer ranking them from least reem, to most. This is the most correct ranking and I will not be told otherwise.

8. Jon Clark (season one)

As a TOWIE viewer, perhaps this influences my decision to rank Jon Clark as the least reem in this ranking of Love Island cheeky Essex geezers. Him proposing to Hannah Elizabeth on our screens back in 2015 was unmissable television – hey even stayed together nine months afterwards! Even though there is no bad blood between them, his reputation on TOWIE too is not very favourable. He was just annoying and got in everyone’s business even though he is way older than them all. You’re ok, Jon. Just not my favourite.

7. Ron Hall (season nine)

Ron left the Love Island Villa as boyfriend and girlfriend with co-star Lana Jenkins in season nine. He messed her about quite a bit before this though and was often feeling tempted to jump ship. His ray-bans completed his cheeky Essex geezer look.

6. Nathan Massey (season two)

The loyal carpenter from Essex. It was him and Cara from day one, and now they’re married with two children: Freddie-George and Delilah. Nathan was just ridiculously funny and was a real character in his season. It’s no wonder him and Cara won.

5. Chris Taylor (season five)

I think up until All Stars, the UK was obsessed with Chris Taylor. He’s all over TikTok and even made a cameo in the Barbie movie. He just moved a bit weird in All Stars and gave Essex boys a bad name with the way he handled the situation with Arabella. Not my favourite.

4. Ronnie Vint (season 11)

I can’t believe the public sent Ronnie and Harriet home. This is my campaign to get them back into the villa. Friend of Olivia Attwood and Bradley Dack, Ronnie is a real Essex geezer. I’m not even going to hate on him for the Turkey teeth and his hair fibres, because he just seems like a sound bloke. EVEN with the way he was in a triangle with Jess and Harriet, then dumped them both for Tiffany. Mad moves. I think he is so funny. He definitely is a serial Instagram story liker, though. Thank you for that information, Matilda. You’re a real one.

3. Tyrique Hyde (season 10)

GET BACK TOGETHER WITH ELLA, for the love of God. He became a lover boy in that season and had the best character development. He changed his bad boy ways for Ella and they definitely did not deserve to be third place.

2. Joey Essex (season 11)

No one could have predicted Joey Essex going on Love Island this summer as a bombshell. The bombshell be bombshelling, truly. REEM going viral is summer 2024 memorabilia. I will remember this summer purely just by that. Again, as a TOWIE viewer, I’m so glad REEM has come out of the woodworks once again. Joey is moving a bit crazy in that villa for a 31-year-old though. I’m really not sure if he’s as ready to settle down as much as he claims he is.

1. Kem Cetinay (season three)

Kem, my baby boy. They could never make me hate you. “Do you know what I mean I’ve got white jeans on, red trainers. That’s me.” Unreal. No wonder he has been so successful post Love Island. He’s brilliant. Sad it didn’t work out for him and Amber.
