Dumped Love Island 2024 cast members Ronnie Vint and Harriett Blackmore

Ronnie and Harriett were both scouted and Love Island has been trying to cast them for years

‘A couple of years ago I was really close to doing it’

After being dumped from Love Island 2024, Ronnie Vint and Harriett Blackmore have revealed they were both scouted for the show, and bosses have been desperately trying to get them in the villa for years.

It’s no new thing that Islanders get scouted a lot, and sometimes they are approached by loads of different shows before settling on Love Island.

Dumped Islanders Harriett and Ronnie spoke to Closer Online and spilled all about how they got on the show, and even revealed that casting producers have been in their DMs for years to get them on. Harriett has been approached by loads of different shows, and Ronnie said his Islander connections were what secured him a spot.

“I was scouted, I didn’t apply,” Harriett said. “I got scouted through Instagram.” She said she had been “asked quite a few times” to do the show, and added: “A couple of years ago I was really close to doing it but I never did. Obviously this year I decided to.”

Ronnie added he was scouted through Instagram, too. He said his connections with Olivia Attwood were how he got onto the radar of Love Island producers. “Since she’s been on it, I’ve had a message probably every year to do it. I just feel like this was the right time in my life to go and find someone and yeah, that’s why I did it,” he said.

Ronnie is best mates with footballer Bradley Dack, and through this has become extremely close to his wife and ex-Islander, Olivia Attwood. Ronnie was best man at the couple’s wedding. Ahead of Love Island 2024, Ronnie said: “Bradley Dack is my best friend and he and Olivia are a big part of my life. I call Olivia my big little sister, she always looks out for me.”

Speaking with Closer, Ronnie and Harriett were then asked if they had been asked to do any other shows that aren’t Love Island, to which Harriett said “quite a few actually”. She explained she gets “quite a lot of messages” from MTV shows, so maybe we’ve not seen the last of Harriett!
