Um, Jimmy actually told Chelsea he didn’t want to get married days before their breakup?!

So that really emotional scene in Love Is Blind when Jimmy told Chelsea he didn’t want to marry her and she seemed really shocked? Yeah, well it turns out that was a completely fake reaction from both of them because they’d already had the conversation DAYS before filming that conversation. I feel so lied to right now.

The reason for the repeated conversation was because it wasn’t caught on camera, which means both of their reactions were fake to cater for the cameras. Jimmy revealed during an interview with EW he’d warned Chelsea he didn’t want to get married to his Love Is Blind fiance days prior to the conversation.

He explained: “I wanted to tell her the moment I made a decision. I actually told her several days prior that if we were to go to the altar, it would be a no. We were five, maybe seven, days away from the wedding and I told her, ‘I love you, but if we were to have to say this timeline works and we got to go to the altar right now, it’s a no.’ That’s just me being open and honest with her.”

And in the moment the camera didn’t manage to catch Chelsea really didn’t take the original news too well. Jimmy continued: “She didn’t take it too well. I told her my promise to her would be to take it day by day. Another couple of days went by and I started to feel a lot of pressure on all of her friends and family flying in. A lot of her people were not local, it was a weekday wedding. At that point, I loved her and I owed it to her and her family to be upfront and honest with her. I didn’t feel taking her to the altar — she’d been married before — was the appropriate thing to do.”

And it seems for Jimmy the major factor was that he just couldn’t trust Chelsea anymore. He explained: “The moment I realized things weren’t going to work with Chelsea and I was just around trust,” he adds. “I mean, earlier in the pods, she already broke my trust when I told her not to go tell anybody that we’ve announced we loved each other.

“She broke my trust there, I forgave her for it, and she was still amazing to me off camera. But once we got towards the end, I’ve got a couple days to make a big decision and I’m sitting here thinking, ‘I want her to know every inch of me. I want her to know every part of who I am.’ And I told her some things in confidence and she aired me out on them. I’m not cool with that.”

The conversation Jimmy had with Chelsea off camera about his past relationship with one of his close female friends was never supposed to be mentioned on camera, but Chelsea brought it up during one of their fights during filming. “That was the moment. It was the trust. I can’t marry someone in that period of time when I felt like they betrayed me on one huge piece of something I did not want to talk about.”
