Travis Kelce has FINALLY revealed how he met Taylor Swift and we can all die happy

So Travis Kelce, American football player and Taylor Swift’s boyfriend, has finally revealed how the two met and it’s kinda adorable.

In an interview with The Wall Street Journal, the Kansas City Chiefs player described Taylor as “hilarious”, and “a genius” and said that he had “somebody playing Cupid” when they first met.

Some people might think the relationship is all about the PR but that girlie has had some abysmal boyfriends. I mean, remember the whole Matty Healy thing? Yeah, bad. So the fact that he makes her so happy automatically means we’re all rooting for them. The video of her running up to him and hugging him after her show? Adorable.

So how did Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce meet?

“I don’t know if I want to get into all of it” when asked about how he met Taylor. But, thank god for us, he does. Travis first tried to meet Taylor at her concert at the Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas, where he plays but he got locked out by security. Mood.

It’s a Swiftie tradition to make friendship bracelets for the Eras Tour and Travis actually made one with his number on it to give to her. I am literally weeping.

He said: “I was disappointed that she doesn’t talk before or after her shows because she has to save her voice for the 44 songs that she sings. So I was a little butt-hurt I didn’t get to hand her one of the bracelets I made for her.”

“She doesn’t meet anybody, or at least she didn’t want to meet me, so I took it personal,”

But after his initial rejection, he said someone from her team helped him out.“There were definitely people she knew that knew who I was, in her corner [who said]: Yo! Did you know he was coming? I had somebody playing Cupid.”

Travis hinted that it was a member of Taylor’s family who connected them and then Taylor texted him and “told me exactly what was going on and how I got lucky enough to get her to reach out.”

They got to know each other a couple of times, including when she went to watch him at the Kansas City Chiefs game and apparently Taylor’s family were doing a cheeky bit of matchmaking trying to match them up. He said: “She’ll probably hate me for saying this, but…when she came to Arrowhead, they gave her the big locker room as a dressing room, and her little cousins were taking pictures…in front of my locker.”

After that they went on their first official dates in New York on the weekend of the 14th October. Discussing the date Travis said: “When I met her in New York, we had already kind of been talking, so I knew we could have a nice dinner and, like, a conversation, and what goes from there will go from there. ”

He also spoke about being nervous about messing the early days of their relationship up. “Everybody around me telling me: Don’t f*ck this up! And me sitting here saying: Yeah, got it.”

He added: “That was the biggest thing to me: make sure I don’t say anything that would push Taylor away.”

After discussing how they met, Travis went on to call Taylor “hilarious”, “a genius” and says the share the same values.

“Everybody knows I’m a family guy,” he said. “Her team is her family. Her family does a lot of stuff in terms of the tour, the marketing, being around, so I think she has a lot of those values as well, which is right up my alley.”

Speaking about the attention he’s got since starting dating Taylor Swift, he said it’s more stressful than he lets on: “Obviously I’ve never dated anyone with that kind of aura about them…. I’ve never dealt with it. But at the same time, I’m not running away from any of it.

“The scrutiny she gets, how much she has a magnifying glass on her, every single day, paparazzi outside her house, outside every restaurant she goes to, after every flight she gets off, and she’s just living, enjoying life. When she acts like that I better not be the one acting all strange.”
