MAFS UK gossip roundup

Buckle up: It’s time for a THIRD roundup of all the chaotic MAFS tea from the last month

Chanita announcing she fancies Miles from Made in Chelsea sends me

No, I can’t believe we’re back here again either – but we are. The MAFS UK drama, gossip, tea and chaotic carnage just never stops – and it’s time for the THIRD roundup of everything that’s gone on since the show ended a few months back. This last month has seen the goss continue in the lead up to and in the aftermath of the long-awaited Christmas reunion. Here’s everything you’ve missed.

Zoe and Jenna are thinking about getting married in the future!

Starting off with a happy one, the MAFS UK success story of the year is still going strong. In an interview with Hitched, Jenna said the following about her and Zoe’s future.

“I think there will potentially be a moment in the future where I or Zoe wants to propose. I said ‘I’m going to propose to you,’ for a laugh and she was like, ‘Don’t you dare!’

“Obviously I’d want the most sustainable wedding ever. I’d want everything vegan. I can just picture this lovely wholesome day where we all go out in the morning, hang fairy lights and homemade decorations, but we’ll see how much I can get Zoe on board with… I can see this going the distance and I don’t tend to get that feeling in relationships. Normally I’m the one who isn’t bothered, but this feels like the real deal.”

Matt and Dan from 2021 split

Dan and Matt told MAFS UK fans the news of their split on Instagram, posting a joint announcement that reads: “As you all know, we have been on an incredible adventure together the last two years and we have given ourselves every opportunity to make things work as a couple, but over the last few months we have realised that we are actually better as friends.

“Break ups are never easy, even when amicable, but we can’t thank you enough for your support and kindness following our journey together.

“There’s nothing but love and good energy between us, and we feel very lucky to have found each other in our lives. Just sadly not as a couple! And although we are parting ways, we will always continue to support one another.”

Thomas came out as pansexual

Not really gossip, but important news for the roundup – Thomas came out just before the MAFS UK Christmas reunion, telling us all in a powerful Insta post that he isn’t gay, but he’s pansexual. “I came out when I was 15 as gay, however before the show I found that I was attracted to all genders and coming to be more fluid with my gender and liberated in my sexuality. I do now understand that I am pansexual.

“Although I resonate more with dating cis and trans men, I do find cis and trans women attractive too. I am at the beginning of this journey and I am more confident than I have ever been before. Pansexuality is not difficult to understand, however – rather than be offended, I would rather help people understand and learn with resources and education.

“Thanks for supporting me during MAFS and after – you have contributed to giving me the confidence to live in my truth. I did some out during my ex-husband’s homestay, but obviously they have to condense hours of filming to one hour.”

We’re so proud of Thomas living his truth and being true to his authentic self – and bringing awareness and education to what it means to be pansexual.

Adrian described being married to Thomas as ‘a really difficult game of chess’

Speaking to OK Mag ahead of the Christmas reunion, Adrian touched on what the marriage was like and what situation his and Thomas’ relationship was in now. “I was a rabbit in headlights – I could see exactly what this man was the second I saw him. It was like playing a really difficult game of chess. You never quite know what you’re going to do next.

“One minute we’re the best of friends and by the afternoon, we’re blocked. And then it’s fine again. I’m going to have to wait and see for that one, to be honest.”

Chanita saying she fancies Miles from Made in Chelsea

Saying that her resolution for 2023 was to find “a fit guy” following the unsuccessful journey she had with Jordan on the show, Chanita then said her celeb crush was Miles Nazaire from Made in Chelsea. Fair play.

Gemma was hospitalised and said she nearly died

Posting on her Instagram story, Gemma said: “I’m still here in the best hands. The doctors and nurses have been amazing at Torbay.

“Out of my recovery and on my overnight antibiotics and more fluids. Honestly I can’t think the doctors and nurses at Torbay enough, especially Hollie and Joy in recovery who have looked after me so well. I will always say trust your gut and trust how you feel especially when the outcome could have been fatal.”

Gemma then shared a picture of her on an IV drip, and said: “Wow, the staff on Warrington ward have been absolutely incredible.

‘Thank you so much to my nurses I’ve been in such a bad way emotionally and physically. I’m nervous and excited to get home but cannot wait to be reunited with the children and so unbelievably grateful they saw my situation as seriously as they did.”

The Sophie and Adrian Instagram live drama

And finally with the MAFS UK gossip roundup, on her Instagram story Marilyse shared a screenshot of a nasty comment from the live that said Johnathan’s much publicised comments about what body shapes he’s attracted to are at odds with his attraction to Amy. Marilyse said “Really sad to witness an Instagram live last night between two cast members whilst the comments were body shaming / belittling @thatsportsspice (Amy) and the comments were left on!

“I would have thought the ‘MAFS family’ would know better by now. Shame on all involved. Amy is beautiful inside and out. She’s a curvy, petite young woman who inspires lots of girls and isn’t and shouldn’t be ashamed of her body.”

Amy then added in another story: “Sophie is a beautiful girl. I have no ill feelings against her, as I hope she doesn’t for me. It’s a shame as another curvy girl who also received negative comments about size she didn’t stand in solidarity and shut the comments down straight away.”

Sophie responded on her Instagram story with a video, saying: “I am not one to comment on situations that much, but when it’s about body image I absolutely will be there. I was made aware of some comments made on lives, and no one should have to go through that. I know exactly how it feels which makes it worse. I was called chubby and fat throughout the show. Whatever someone’s intentions were, there was a conversation around my body type on the show. I’ve had that backlash and I know how it feels.

“It’s a very painful thing to have to deal with, and it’s a very sensitive topic. I don’t condone any behaviour that’s aimed towards anyone, anyone that comments on someone’s body online is horrific. Who is anyone to comment on anyone’s size? It’s so difficult, because there was a situation where someone said what their preferences were and now that’s being used where people are compared and people’s body sizes are talked about. I never wanted to be a part of that.

“I would never want anything like that near or on my page, I like to have a positive platform. Body image is something very sensitive to a lot of people and should not be talked about.”

Adrian also responded on his story, saying: “I’m not exactly sure what was said, it was in the comments on the live. I’ve asked for screen recordings so I’m able to see who said it and I can block them from Instagram. I wish Marilyse had told me at the time so I would have been able to shut it down.

“I will never condone this hate online, and I hope we can continue to be kind in the future.”
