Luca has unfollowed Gemma on Instagram while she says she’s had a ‘challenging’ time

Love Island’s Luca Bish has unfollowed his ex-girlfriend Gemma Owen on Instagram. The two split up last month after just three months of being in a relationship and being coupled up with each other in the Love Island villa. Eagle-eyed fans have noticed that the former fishmonger no longer follows his ex on Instagram, but she still follows him. Awkward.

Gemma recently said her breakup with Luca has been “challenging” at the PrettyLittleThing Christmas event in Dublin. The Love Island runner up spoke about her breakup publicly for the first time since the split and said her breakup hasn’t been “a nice time”.

Gemma told Goss.ie: “These last few weeks, as going through any breakup, it’s not nice. It’s not a nice time. Having to deal with the press and other people’s opinions, and people thinking that they know what’s going on when they don’t, that’s been challenging.”

On a brighter note, Gemma said her friends have really been there for her, including her fellow Love Islanders. She said: “Every single one of them sent me messages, being there, telling me if I ever need a call, they’ll be there.” Luca has also been supported by his friends as his fellow Islanders, Andrew LePage and Jacques O’Neill have shared their support for him on social media.

When Luca and Gemma’s breakup was announced, Gemma said it hasn’t been “an easy decision” but it was “best” for the both of them at that time. Luca also put out his own statement following their split, and told his fans he would have liked “some time to process this privately”.
