If there is one relationship that shocks us every time we are reminded of it, it’s Rupert Grint and Georgia Groome’s, AKA Ron Weasley and Georgia Nicholson. Despite it only becoming well known the two started dating in 2018, the world was shocked when they found out they had been in an on and off again relationship since 2011. Yes, you read that correctly!! Rupert, who is well known for his role as Ronald Weasley in the Harry Potter films and Georgia who is best known for her role as Georgia Nicholson in Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging have made everyone’s minds explode in the greatest crossover event of our generation.

They first started dating in 2011

It isn’t 100 per cent confirmed they were together in 2011, however when a tweet went viral that said: “I was today years old when I found out Georgia from Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging has been going out with Ron Weasley since 2011?”, the internet was thrown into a frenzy. Alongside the tweet was a photo of them together, reportedly from 2011. The Daily Mail also claimed the two have been in an on and off again relationship since then.

They went public with their relationship in 2018

In 2018, the two went out in public with one another at the Dinard Film Festival. The Daily Mail said: “Rupert and Georgia were rumoured to have begun dating six years ago and have been spotted on a few occasions looking loved up and holding hands.” Despite the pair never confirming their relationship, they were pictured multiple times together after.

In 2020, they both welcomed a baby girl

While people were just beginning to pick their mouths up off the floor, Georgia and Rupert welcomed their daughter, who they named Wednesday, during lockdown in May 2020.

Speaking to Glamour about becoming a father during the Covid-19 pandemic, Rupert said: “It’s been tough. It’s a time when you want as much support as you can get from your family and your friends. It’s a very isolating thing, this lockdown, so we really have kind of been on our own. But there’s positives with that. It’s been great to work everything out for ourselves, without so many opinions. We’ve really bonded with Wednesday. It’s been intense, but great.”

In a rare interview, Rupert opened up about their relationship in 2021

In January 2021, Rupert spoke with Glamour in a rare interview. In it, he opened up about his relationship with Georgia, whom he is “deeply in love with”. “It’s a very natural thing – we’re just best friends. We’re kind of the same person; we think the same way. That’s always made it work – that’s why it’s lasted. It’s hard to pinpoint exactly what it is, but it works and it’s great,” he said.
