Jacob Elordi says he had $400 in his bank and was sleeping in his car before Euphoria

The Kissing Booth and Euphoria star Jacob Elordi has spoken about his financial struggles after finishing the Netflix movie before he got the Nate Jacobs gig. In an interview with GQ, Jacob revealed that after moving to LA in 2017 there was a point he slept on his friend’s sofa and sometimes even slept in his car. The 25-year-old Australian actor made a name for himself starring in The Kissing Booth movies as Noah Flynn from 2018 to 2021. In 2019, he landed the role of Nate Jacobs in HBO’s Euphoria but was still struggling financially in between gigs.

In the interview, he said: “I wasn’t booking jobs. I think I had – I don’t know, $400 or $800 left in my bank account – and Euphoria was my last audition before I went home for a little while to make some money and recuperate.” Whilst they were filming the pilot for Euphoria, Jacob was still sleeping in his car. “My car was like a hoarder’s, stacked with boxes and coat hangers and things,” he said. Once a producer became aware of this, they booked him a room at the Standard in West Hollywood and he has been able to live comfortably in LA since Euphoria took off.

It is unclear how much Jacob earns from his role as Nate Jacobs in Euphoria but it has been reported he has a net worth of $1 million.
