break my soul leak

Someone leaked Beyoncé’s new song on Twitter – and apparently her team is fuming

That Twitter account won’t break their soul

After Beyoncé’s team unexpectedly released her new single – Break My Soul – hours before they advertised, people are now speculating the song was leaked by an account on Twitter.

The track was due to drop on all streaming platforms at midnight Eastern Time – which is 5am GMT. But Tidal actually released it a couple of hours earlier, as well as the YouTube official lyric video.

Fans were apparently listening to the leak by 1am, discussing their verdict online.

An account called Normani Chart Source tweeted a clip of the then-unreleased song – how they managed to get hold of it is still unknown.

The tweet read: “Not y’all lying and saying this is good LMFAOO… anyways stream some REAL dance music.” Over 3,000 people quote-tweeted the snippet – some were disappointed an account managed to leak the song early, others just reviewed the clip after hearing it.

According to Twitter, “the copyright owner” took the video down and filed a claim on the account.

The owner of the account later said “Beyoncé’s team took my fucking video down” and “I got a fucking email from her team with a letter of intent to sue” – this is unconfirmed by Sony Music. Normani Chart Source later clarified, “this isn’t gonna make me stop dragging her. If anything I’ll be dragging her ass 200x harder now.”

Normani Chart Source claimed they were sent the leak via a Google Drive link by another stan account.

A number of fans have simply tweeted back: “Deserved.”

The Tab has contacted Sony Music for comment.
