These are officially the worst rated episodes of your favourite TV shows

One Simpsons episode only scored 3.9/10

*Contains spoilers*

We all have that iconic episode of our favourite TV show that we will watch, over and over again. It could be dramatic, incredibly quotable or just purely aesthetically pleasing. And then of course there are those episodes which are the absolute worst. The ones you skip on Netflix, cringed when you first watched or they aggravate you beyond belief.

But are you alone in your hatred of certain episodes? Well money.co.uk has found the worst rated episodes of the most popular shows which are always at the top of our Netflix lists. Friends, The Crown, The Simpsons and Game of Thrones are just some of the shows featured.

Going through IMDb they’ve ranked the worst episodes of each show and found the score they were given out of 10.

These are the worst rated episodes of your favourite shows:

Friends, series 4, episode 21 ‘The One With The Invitation’

Score: 7.2

Friends had 10 seasons with over 200 episodes, so there was naturally going to be a few bad episodes. The worst rated episodes were always ones which used old clips to make a whole new episode, which is just lazy Friends.

And the worst of them all is “The One With The Invitation”. It’s the episode where Ross debates whether to invite Rachel to his wedding to Emily, and he has various flashbacks to different times in their relationship.

The official synopsis on Netflix reads: “Rachel and the engaged Ross reminisce separately about when they dated each other. The friends get invitations to Ross’s wedding.”

Game of Thrones, series 8, episode 6  ‘The Iron Throne’

via HBO

Score: 4.1

The entire last season of Game of Thrones was a complete car crash, in fact it was scored the lowest of all the seasons with a score of 6.4. This was a massive drop from all the other seasons which were rated at least 8.8.

So it’s no surprise the episode is one from season eight. In fact it’s the finale episode where Jon kills Daenerys and Bran becomes the King. Which in itself is worthy of the rating.

The official synopsis reads: “In the aftermath of the devastating attack on King’s Landing, Daenerys must face the survivors.”

The Office USA, series 8, episode 19 ‘Get The Girl’

Score: 6.5

The Office USA was finally added to UK Netflix recently and naturally everyone went crazy for it. However there are definitely some episodes in the nine seasons that fans aren’t too impressed with.

And the worst of them all is an episode in season eight when Andy travels to Florida to tell Erin he loves her.

The official synopsis on Netflix says: “As Andy heads south to Florida to sweep Erin off her feet, Nellie makes herself at home in his office in Scranton.”

Stranger Things, series 2, episode 7 ‘The Lost Sister’

Score: 6.1

Stranger Things is a Netflix fan favourite, despite only having three seasons so far. However it’s clear to many viewers the worst episode is one near the end of the second season.

The episode almost feels like a spin-off episode when Eleven travels to Chicago and meets all these new people.

The official synopsis on Netflix says: “Psychic visions draw Eleven to a band of violent outcasts and an angry girl with a shadowy past.

The Great British Bake Off ‘The Roaring Twenties’

Score: 6.6

I’m shocked Great British Bake Off could have any bad episodes, but we move. There’s been 11 series so they are naturally going to run out cakes, there’s only so many iced buns people can make.

And maybe the roaring twenties theme was just too much for viewers, which resulted in it having the worst score of any Bake Off episode.

The official synopsis from Channel 4 says: “The challenges inspired by the roaring twenties include a slapstick Signature and a tiered Showstopper special.” In reality they made custard pies, beignet soufflés and prohibition style cakes.

The Crown series 3 episodes ‘Olding’, ‘Coup’ and ‘Moondust’

Score: 8.1

Everyone appears to love The Crown, particularly the most recent fourth season. However in season three, there were three episodes that disappointed viewers.

And if you’ve seen the episode ‘Moondust’, where Phillip becomes obsessed with the moon, then you will understand why it was rated so badly.

The episodes ‘Olding’, which was the first to star Olivia Coleman and ‘Coup’ which focuses on the Queen learning about horses in America, are equally rated the worst.

Breaking Bad ‘El Camino’

Score: 7.3

Breaking Bad has a very good track record on IMDb, being the only show to have received a perfect score for an episode – Ozymandias in season five.

But the worst rated episode is technically the movie El Camino about Jesse, which was released six years later after the series finale.

The official Netflix synopsis says: “Fugitive Jesse Pinkman attempts to outrun his past.”

The Simpsons, series 23, episode 22 ‘Lisa Goes Gaga’

Score: 3.9

The Simpsons is one the most iconic TV shows and has become very good at predicting world events, but would they have been able to predict the worst episode of their own show?

The worst rated of nearly 700 episodes is “Lisa Goes Gaga”, an episode from season 23 of the show. In the episode Lady Gaga travels to Springfield to cheer Lisa up.

The official synopsis on Channel 4 says: “Lisa tries to reverse her status as one of the least popular girls in class by ghost-writing positive things about herself on the school blog. But when her plan backfires, Lady Gaga comes to her aid.”

Killing Eve, series 3, episode 6 ‘End of Game’

worst rated tv episodes killing eve

via BBC

Score: 7.5

The BBC’s Killing Eve received consistently high ratings across its three seasons on IMDb by fans. However by the end of season three, the ratings started to dip.

In particular the worst episode was “End of Game”, with reviews for this episode saying the show was “bland” and “awful”.

The official BBC synopsis says: “As the investigation continues, Carolyn finds out that information is being withheld by those close to her. Eve finds a lead which might bring her closer to Villanelle, but Villanelle has had enough and decides on a different path.”
