What actually went on between Hunter Schafer and Dominic Fike, as they’re seen together again

Three years after calling it quits, Hunter Schafer and Dominic Fike have been spotted together again, and people are wondering if their romance could be making a comeback.

The former couple, who met while filming Euphoria, have seemingly been spending some time together recently, with sightings of the pair popping up once again.

Most recently, Dominic was spotted at a bar with Hunter ahead of his show in Seattle, where he was opening for Tame Impala. The musician was also seen taking photos with fans around the show.

Then, on Monday, an anonymous person messaged celebrity gossip account DeuxMoi asking whether they knew where Dominic and Hunter currently stand, after claiming they had spotted the pair having dinner together in Chicago. DeuxMoi subsequently confirmed that Hunter had attended Dominic’s show in Chicago, something another fan had already noticed from the crowd.

There’s currently no confirmation that the pair are romantically involved again, but their recent sightings are certainly interesting considering everything that happened between them.

Hunter and Dominic first got close while filming Euphoria, where they play Jules and Elliot respectively.

The pair sparked dating rumours at the beginning of 2022 before eventually making their relationship public. For more than a year, they were one of Hollywood’s most talked-about young couples, appearing together on red carpets and discussing each other in interviews.

But by 2023, the relationship was over. Dominic confirmed he was single during an interview with Apple Music, explaining that he was “done being in relationships right now.” He also pointed towards his struggles with codependency as one of the reasons behind his split from Hunter.

He even addressed the prospect of having to film Euphoria season three alongside his ex, saying: “I think it’ll be fine. We’re all adults, kind of. I’m trying.”

Hunter later revealed the real reason they split

More than a year after their breakup, Hunter spoke about the relationship during an appearance on the Call Her Daddy podcast.

She described the split as “mutually agreed upon”, despite reports suggesting the breakup hadn’t been quite so amicable.

“It was one of the cleaner breakups I’ve had. He has a lot to work on, and I also have a lot to work on,” she said. “We had a really good thing, but there were things in our own selves that had nothing to do with each other that kept coming up.”

Hunter also made it clear that the breakup was far from easy, despite describing it as mutual.

“It was so, so hard because we really loved each other. He’s a really special person, and I love his soul and everything.”

But she then revealed that Dominic had cheated on her during their relationship, saying the experience had “fundamentally changed” her.

“It’s part of why the relationship ended, is I got cheated on for the first time,” she explained. “He’s talked about this, too, in his songs, he writes about it, so it’s fine to be talking about it today, and it’s part of my truth.”

Hunter continued: “But that fundamentally changed me as a person. And it was this whole process of realizing that cheating has nothing to do with you at all. It has everything to do with that person and whatever kind of pain they’re in, or whatever they’re dealing with.”
