Love Island winner Toni gets real about life after her win in emotional new video

As the winner of Love Island season 12, Toni has had a busy past two months. But in a recent TikTok video, she got vulnerable with viewers about the struggles she’s been facing since leaving the villa.

Toni, the first-ever American winner of Love Island, has been travelling back and forth from Las Vegas to London since August. Unlike the other Islanders, she hasn’t been as active on socials, especially TikTok. In a new video, she explained why.

“I’ve been trying all day to film a get-ready-with-me or a story time, but I thought it would be better if I told you guys the truth about the last couple months,” she said.

“I’m so grateful that you guys have put me in the position that I am in, but it hasn’t been easy. I’ve been sleeping on couches, and I think this is my seventh Airbnb or hotel at this point. Living out of suitcases is hard.”

Toni is still with Cach and they have been making things work long distance, as Toni  tries to secure a flat in London. But the flat hunt stress, combined with constantly renewing her visa and hopping back and forth between countries, has gotten to her.

“I’m trying to get back to that same lovable character that you guys fell in love with on your screens for eight weeks, I just haven’t been that person. So please be patient with me,” she said.

Toni was scouted by a Love Island producer as she was working as a waitress, so unlike some other Islanders, the influencer life is very new to her.

“Waitresses don’t usually get to walk down red carpets and be in rooms full of celebrities that they’ve only read about online,” she said. “I came on this show with 3,000 Instagram followers and no TikTok, so for almost a million of you guys to be following me at this point, it’s crazy.”

The comments are filled with support for Toni, including a few from her fellow finalists.

“Love you babyyy,” Shakira said.

“You are so loved mama xxx,”  Yasmin said.
