MAFS UK’s Leisha addresses the moment from her honeymoon that left her ‘mortified’
‘Seeing my insecurities play out on TV isn’t easy’
The MAFS UK bride Leisha Lightbody has addressed the specific conversation from her honeymoon with Reiss Boyce that left her “embarrassed” and “literally mortified”.
During their MAFS UK honeymoon, Leisha and Reiss visited a market in Bangkok. Leisha became concerned her husband seemed more interested in mangoes than in her. Leisha asked Reiss if he felt privileged to be married to her. Reiss responded, “Yeah”. She kept probing to work out whether he was lying. “I know there’s so many potential people who would love to have me as a partner.”

MAFS UK viewers were a bit confused by how Leisha behaved during this conversation. Some commented she was “too much” and “100 miles an hour”.

Leisha did not enjoy watching this conversation on TV. She wrote on Instagram: “Tonight’s episode was hard to watch seeing my insecurities play out on TV isn’t easy but my heart was in the right place, even when things felt hot and cold.”
Leisha explained her thought process during that conversation, and why she asked Reiss so many questions.

“Your girl’s insecurities were for sure coming out in that clip,” she said on her Instagram story, “Girls, you know when you get that intuition that somebody is just not feeling it? And I think I was just pushing and pushing and pushing and pushing it. It was a gut instinct. I’m so embarrassed.
“But do you know what? I just went for it. I was there to get married, I thought, ‘I’m just going to go for it.’ So, in normal life you probably wouldn’t ask those questions, but I thought, ‘This isn’t normal life. I’m married.’ And if something is off, something is off. And you should always be treated like a princess, in my opinion.”
Apparently Leisha’s trust issues impacted the way she behaved on her MAFS UK honeymoon. “The honeymoon was amazing in general, but it was turbulent at times. It’s hard spending 24 hours with someone you barely know and I’m the sort of person that needs to fully trust someone, hence the 101 questions.”
She also asked people to “be kind” as she “never put any sort of effort into the way I looked on the honeymoon, because it was like literally 40 degree heat.”
