People drag Love Island’s Lauren as she reveals why she and Harrison STILL aren’t official

Love Island’s Lauren has admitted that she and Harrison are still not boyfriend and girlfriend – despite being exclusive.

Speaking on Jessie Wynter and Will Young’s podcast Farmie Will & Jessie, Lauren opened up about their relationship status after weeks of speculation. She confirmed that she and Harrison are very much together, but said they haven’t yet taken the step to call each other boyfriend and girlfriend. She shared that the reason for this is that relationships in the Love Island world are very different to the real world, and they’re taking the time to “figure things out”.

“We’re exclusive, we are for each other, and obviously no one else,” she explained. However, when Jessie and Will asked if she wanted an official proposal, complete with balloons and over-the-top gestures, Lauren admitted she would love that.

Lauren even revealed that she and Harrison had spoken in the villa about what she would like if he asked her to be his girlfriend, saying she loves “all the big gestures” and would expect something special. Jessie compared it to the way Will made things official for her, with decorations and a hotel surprise, which she described as unforgettable.

Despite Lauren’s excitement, many people online questioned why Harrison hasn’t yet made things official. Comments under a TikTok clip of the podcast were brutal, with one saying: “Someone free this poor girl I feel so bad for her,” and another asking: “What is the actual point of being exclusive but not bf/gf?!”

The couple has already faced plenty of criticism since leaving Love Island, with accusations that their romance is purely for PR. That viral Nando’s receipt video only fuelled the rumours that Harrison isn’t as invested as Lauren.

Still, Lauren made it clear that she hopes Harrison will step up with a grand gesture. Whether or not that happens remains to be seen, but for now, Love Island’s Lauren and Harrison are exclusive – just not boyfriend and girlfriend.
