People are cancelling their Netflix over claims TV show ‘pushes trans ideology’ on kids
Many are ending their subscriptions in a viral boycott
When you opened Twitter and TikTok this morning, you were probably met with loads of people suddenly saying they are cancelling their Netflix subscriptions – but why? Here’s what’s going on.
Some people are boycotting after Elon Musk told everyone to cancel their subscriptions on Wednesday morning, in response to a kids TV show which has trans themes.
Enough is enough. Show me yours and I'll follow you back and encourage my friends to.

It all started on Tuesday when the billionaire reshared a post from the right-wing account LibsOfTikTok which contained a clip from the children’s show Dead End: Paranormal Park.
“OMG. Dead End: Paranormal Park, a show on Netflix, is pushing pro-transgender on CHILDREN. This show is advertised for 7-YEAR-OLDS. It’s being promoted on Netflix kids now. Parents- BEWARE,” it said.
Dead End: Paranormal Park is a fantasy horror cartoon that came to Netflix in 2022. It’s based on Hamish Steele’s DeadEndia Graphic Novels and is about two teens and a talking pug who team up to battle demons at a haunted theme park.
One of the main characters Barney Guttman is transgender and this is mentioned a few times in the show. In the clip shared by LibsOfTikTok, he speaks about being trans and being able to be himself in a new place. The show is on Netflix under the “kids’ TV” genre.
In response to the tweet, Elon Musk wrote: “This is not ok.” He later shared another meme about transgender content on Netflix and children, and wrote: “Cancel Netflix for the health of your kids.”

Underneath the same post Musk replied to, there was also a screenshot of the Dead End: Paranormal Park creator replying to Keir Starmer expressing his condolences after Charlie Kirk’s death. In the post, he called Kirk a “nazi”.
“Why the f**k are you even commenting on this d**head? You sympathy for any of the families being slaughtered by your weapons but a random nazi gets shot and it’s a public statement. You’re suck a f**king evil s**t,” he said. Hamish has now made his Twitter account private.
This prompted a wave of right-wing people on Twitter to start cancelling their subscriptions, and urging others to do the same.
One post says: “If you haven’t cancelled Netflix yet, use this as your justification. Dead End: Paranormal Park is targeted for ages 7+, which pushes trans ideology. See for yourself!”
“Just cancelled my Netflix subscription. If you employ someone who celebrated the murder of Charlie Kirk and makes content that pushes pro-trans content on my kids… …you will NEVER get a dime of my money It’s as simple as that,” another adds.
