Is KJ Apa not-so-secretly Mr Fantasy? The evidence is abundant, just like his talent

We all knew that KJ Apa was a bit of an oddball, but for the last year, people have been thoroughly convinced that he’s taken up a secret identity known as Mr Fantasy on TikTok.

Most of us met KJ Apa in Netflix’s Riverdale, and those unhinged seven seasons pretty much set the tone for the rest of his career. He’s a character, dropping odd TikTok videos and being all around barmy in TV interviews – but this new viral moment is something else entirely.

With 1.2 million followers and 24 million likes, the Mr Fantasy TikTok account is as confusing as it is captivating. He’s got buck teeth, what is clearly a Party City wig, and what could be a fake British accent. Most of his content hinges on being an up-and-coming artist, and I hate to confirm that the music isn’t half bad. Currently, he’s got four singles: Mr Fantasy, Wayuwanna, Catapult, and One Last Night. An album is reportedly on the way.

In some of the clips, Mr Fantasy is simply jamming to music, but in others, he is putting on an entire skit while rooming with an “aspiring actor” called Blaine. There’s simply no rhyme or reason to his TikTok videos, but all of them have millions of views.

Since going viral last September, KJ – I mean Mr Fantasy – has risen to new heights of fame. He’s been on all the major US talk shows, did a performance at the Macy’s Thanksgiving parade, and is hanging out with other major names.

Take one look at Mr Fantasy and you’ll instantly understand why people are convinced that it’s secretly KJ Apa. They look remarkably similar, even with the dry-ass wig and gnarly nashers. People on TikTok have also clocked how Mr Fantasy and KJ Apa have the exact same tattoos, and the backdrop to many of his videos is the same as KJ’s apartment.  A coincidence? We think not.

“Guys, am I being stupid? Is this KJ Apa with fake teeth and a wig?” one person questioned.

“The fact that you guys are questioning if this is KJ Apa is crazyyyyyyy. All the man is wearing is a wig and some fake teeth. You would think he had prosthetics on,” another wrote.

But it’s also one of those things where the more people are questioning it, the more I could be convinced that KJ Apa and Mr Fantasy are two separate people. Who knows?

Neither KJ nor Mr Fantasy have addressed the speculation.

As of yet, it’s yet to be confirmed that KJ Apa and Mr Fantasy are the same person, but if we’re going by looks alone, it’s most definitely the former redhead. But that leaves us with an even bigger question: Why is KJ Apa cosplaying an odd singer with a zany personality?

Maybe he’s just really bored? Either way, I need to know the truth.
