Here’s what the different Taylor Swift eras would study if they went to King’s College
So long, London. See you in September.
It’s been a long time coming, but Taylor Swift finally has full ownership of her first six albums. Swifties around the world are celebrating this well earned milestone, most likely by blasting her albums on repeat.
The King’s Tab is joining in on the celebration by hosting our own Eras Tour, KCL style. From fearless freshers to folklore philosophy, here is what we believe each Taylor Swift era would study if they were students at King’s.
Taylor Swift (Debut): Nursing or psychology
She’s sweet, empathetic and a natural care giver. You know she’d strut her signature white dress and cowboy boots around Guy’s, although she secretly wishes she was on Strand.
As a psych student, she’d use her degree to analyse all the text messages from her friend’s situationships. She would definitely write her dissertation on the psychology of heartbreak.
Fearless: Social sciences
Passionate, curious, and never afraid to speak up against injustice. She’s the kind of student who’s always at the front of a Strand protest. She’s probably president of seven different societies and still somehow averaging a first.
Speak Now: Modern languages
Honestly, I have no rational for this one. This is purely based on vibes.
Red: Film studies
Happy, free, confused, and lonely – four words that perfectly describe King’s students. Red would definitely love the round reading room.
1989: Law or politics
Most Read
She’s sharp, strategic, and always dressed like she’s about to speak in the House Of Commons. In love with the city, she wants to be at the heart of the action. She loves debating the guys in her seminar’s and definitely has a Pret subscription.
Reputation: Business management or economics
She gives CEO girl boss vibes. The only one that can survive the horror that is trying to get a finance internship, and has over 1,000 LinkedIn followers. You’ll never see her cry over her work because she does not have the time. A queen of networking and revenge.
Lover: English or liberal arts
Lover is all about scribbling poetry in glitter pens and coordinating outfits for society events. She’d do liberal arts because she simply couldn’t choose what degree to do. She studies in St James’s Park at golden hour and has a new campus crush everyday. You know she love’s a London Boy.
Folklore: Philosophy
She thinks about the world a little too much, so philosophy would be her perfect fit. After a few drinks at the Vault, she’s already having conversations about the futility of existence with the guy she’s just met. She’s melancholic, but this is her trying.
Evermore: History or classics and the ancient world
Evermore is the one student who actually enjoys writing essays and doing the required readings. She thinks Latin is beautiful and lives for a rainy London walk between lectures.
(I’m not saying history because I’m an Evermore stan, but I kind of am.)
Midnights: Medicine
Let’s be honest, Midnights is an album of sleepless songs, and we know you med students don’t sleep. She’s fuelled solely by red bull and willpower. Midnights is the one you pass in the library in the early morning. She’ll give you a tired smile while muttering something about OSCE’s.
The Tortured Poets Department: Mathematics or physics
Emotionally unstable but academically terrifying. They’ll explain quantum mechanics and their ex with equal intensity. A little too smart, a little too sad, but she can do it with a broken heart.
