We found the best Italian restaurant in York that you have to try

Enoteca by L’UVA is the place to be this summer

So, we might have found the best (student friendly) Italian restaurant in York…

Enoteca by L’UVA is a cute Italian restaurant located on Bridge Street in town. It’s got multiple menus, wine, friendly staff, and is super budget friendly. What’s not to love? We went and gave it a go this week and honestly had the best meal – the food is delicious!

Drinks

Enoteca has an amazing selection of drinks, but, I’m a rosè girl through and through so I went for a glass of zinfandel. A small glass was £6.75, but if you are feeling the need for a large after exam season, it will cost around £10. If there is a group of you, go for a bottle to share, they have options of red, white, rosè and sparkling!

Starters

We decided to pick off the set menu as you get two courses for £21.95, or 3 for £25.95. If you are looking for somewhere to celebrate the end of the year, gather your mates and go for the set menu, it is amazing value and there’s lots of choice!

We went for the buffalo bruschetta, which was super fresh and tasty. We also got a prosciutto caprese which was really light and perfect for summer! Other options from the normal menu include: calamari, mussels and Sicilian meatballs.

Mains

For mains we decided on two classics, carbonara and salami pizza. Enoteca is known for its fresh, handmade pasta and let’s just say that the carbonara did not disappoint. It was super creamy and the portion was great (maybe too big to be honest)!

The pizza I got was the Diavalo, it had fresh mozzarella, pepperoni and olive oil. You can also add chilis if you like a kick. The pizza tasted amazing and was really filling! If you are wanting to splash out, Enoteca also do steaks, which come with chips, onion rings and side salad (mouth is watering).

Dessert and cocktails

We opted for the two course set menu so did not get dessert, but we had a look at the menu and it all looked so good! They have the classics like a range of cheesecakes and chocolate fudge cake (which looked incredible). If you are wanting something more authentic, give the tiramisu or gelato a go!

As we were feeling so full, we decided to go for a cocktail instead. This was on the pricier side, but the two hugo spritz we got was the perfect way to end the meal. Of course, there’s also the option for coffees and other hot drinks.

All in all, Enoteca was the perfect option for a cute and chill Italian meal. It’s the perfect spot for an end-of-year meal with friends, or maybe even graduation in July? Whatever the occasion, Enoteca is one of York’s greatest little spots.
