So with another shocking death and no clear understanding on what’s to come next in season three, here’s The Last of Us season two ending explained and what we can assume to see next.

It’s unclear whether either Ellie or Abbie dies in The Last of Us season two ending. The aftermath of the gunshot is not known, only that it fires and could have killed Ellie, Abby or even Dina, who isn’t present in the final scene but who could have come to rescue Ellie and Tommy by shooting Abby.
